Canadian 2006 Census Conundrum

We received our 2006 Canadian census form in the mail and I started filling out. It starts out with a really tough question: "How many people live at your address as of May 16th, 2006?" The real answer is 2, but I really want to say 3 because Darya will be home at the end of the month. How can I answer this rest of the census form and not include Darya as part of our family. I don't want to lie, but I don't want to not include Darya in our response. My apprehension is more symbolic for our familiy than wanting to ensure I co-operate with the Feds and their bean counting exercise. What to do...what to do?!

hi shane, just checked your blog for an update and i think you should definitely include them....if it makes you feel better then you become a more productive citizen and that's good for canada.(i have a vested interest as my sister-in-law, who lives here, is from saskatchewan!)
have you found the new blog from petropavlovsk (motionseleven)by the thompsons, who were there at the same time as us in 2004?

Hello Shane...

I filled my form out on-line just a few days ago. If memory serves me correct - I think you would check the form to include them.

There is a box that you would check if you are unsure of a resident at that address who may be away. If you did this, it would likely trigger the census taker assigned to your area to contact you for clarification.

I bet the end result would be that all three of you are on the form!

Cheers......
