It is coming together

It has been a busy week...too busy that we haven't had a chance to update the ol' blog with what's been happening. We still don't have our passports and visa back, but we expect them to be done tomorrow and couriered to us for Satuday morning....that means we have booked travel to Almaty for Sunday. We initially thought about flying on Saturday afternoon....but that was cutting just a little too close. Booking travel without our passports or visas is crazy enough for this dad-to-be :-)
Other than that....I think we are all set. We have pretty much packed already. I called Bell Canada to find out about overseas phone rates. They guy on the phone said that the rate from over there was something like $6.74 for the first minute then $3.24 thereafter.....WHOA! I tried to clarify that we were going to be in Kazakstan...not one of the outer moons of Jupiter!! That is nutz! Apparently the internet connections in Kaz are dial-up at best - so communciation will be a challenge, but we will do our best to keep the site updated with all the happening while we are overseas meeting our daughter! We are so excited...I haven't been able to sit still for the last week....I have been a bag of nerves. Kim on the other hand is pretty calm. She is excited about that the trip is finally happening...but isn't as 'worried' as me about something wrong happening. That is me...and that is her...what can you say? :-) We have had a lot of support from fellow Petropavlovsk parents who have journeyed before us....and they have been a ton of help just filling us in on the little details you need to know while you are over there.
Time for bed....probably will post on Saturday before we leave...till then!
